About Us

At Upton we believe that every child deserves a big future. Together, we aim to teach our children that they can achieve their very best in everything they do, and that hard work and determination are the keys to success in life. We encourage one another to understand that diversity is to be celebrated both on our doorstep and beyond and that our community and future is firmly built on the values that we have chosen. We want to ensure that children see learning as life-long and necessary but also fun.

Upton is a two-form entry school with a nursery provision and specialist ASD unit for up to eight pupils. We are fortunate to have excellent facilities including a modern school site and outdoor facilities as well as spacious grounds which assist and enhance outdoor learning and support a range of sports activities, during and outside of the school day.

Upton Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

About the Role

The Governors of Upton Primary School are looking to recruit an exceptional person to lead our successful school in Bexleyheath.

We are extremely proud of our friendly, caring, and welcoming school community and are seeking someone who can not only enhance the strengths of the school but provide the vision and energy to lead Upton, in a rapidly changing world, to the next level of excellence.

The school is ably overseen by our well-established Governing Board and supported by a lively and effective Parents Association. Governors at Upton have many years of experience with the school and the wider community.  They play an active role in holding leaders to account and in supporting them to create a secure, happy and welcoming environment for all.   Our committed Parents Association have been a constant pillar of strength and are always finding innovative ways to raise funds and to assist the school community.

If Upton sounds like the school for you, if you have the passion and dedication to lead what is already a fabulous community through its next chapter, whilst retaining all that is great about us then please apply.  We look forward to receiving your application.

We are also committed to make reasonable adjustments to our recruitment and selection processes, where appropriate, this is to ensure that no candidate, whether they have a disability or not, is unfairly prevented from demonstrating their abilities and skills.
