About the Role

We are looking to appoint a caring and committed Learning Support Assistant to support a child in Reception with speech, language and communication needs, on a one to one and small group basis. The role will involve attending to the child’s personal needs and implementing personal programmes, including social, health, physical and welfare matters.

 

This is a great opportunity to become a part of a forward-thinking team in a growing SEND provision with excellent facilities. You will be well supported by the Inclusion Lead, in an environment where you can develop your skills as a valued member of our support staff. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate the skills needed to work with SEND children and have the ability to plan and deliver bespoke interventions. The role is for 32.5 hours a week, working 5 days, starting at 8:15am and finishing at 3:15pm with a 30min lunch break (unpaid). The contract is for 38 weeks of the year, term time only, including staff training days.

This post is a customer-facing position and falls within the scope of the Code of Practice on English Language Requirement for Public Sector Workers. The school has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the JD/Person Specification. These will be applied during the recruitment/selection and probationary stages.
