About the Role

 

You will be a strong team player who will contribute to the wider life of the school, have excellent communication skills and be able to work positively with children and staff.

 

You should have the capacity to support pupils with special educational needs and be aware of the importance of data collection, analysis and target setting to provide a full and extensive level of support for these pupils. It would be expected that would have knowledge and apply principles within the SEN Code of Practice, with emphasis on Secondary mainstream schools.

 

It would be desirable that you would have some small group Intervention training and experience in delivering a phonics or SNIP programme or similar. It would additionally be desirable to have knowledge and skills within any of the core subject areas. Any specialist SEND Intervention Support experience as well as working with students ASD / ADHD and SEMH would be beneficial.

 

We would expect you to cover Key Stage 3 and 4 classes as required and directed. This would be in support where the regular Teacher may not be available to teach the lesson.

 

We look forward to developing your career pathways through apprenticeship programmes and specific TA learning. Numbers of our staff have used this approach to help move into teaching or wider pastoral roles.

 

Reporting to the SENCO you will work within an agreed system of supervision, to implement work programmes with individuals/groups, in or out of the classroom.
